Admission Requirements for Bangladeshi Students
For Bachelor's Programme:
- Must complete 13 years of education(HSC + 1 year of university).
- School leaving certificate must qualify for a similar university entry in Bangladesh.
- May require entrance exams depending on the program.
For Master's Programs:
- Recognized bachelor's degree from a relevant field.
- Program- specific requirements such as motivational letters or interviews.
Language Proficiency requirements
German-Taught Programs (Mainly for Bachelor's)
- German Language Diploma (B2 or C1)
- May require a preparatory Course or pass a language entrance exam
English-Taught Programs(Common for Master’s):
- IELTS: Minimum 6.0
- TOEFL IBT: Minimum 80
- Cambridge English: Minimum 168
- Duolingo: Minimum 105
Required Documents for Application for a Bangladeshi Students:
- Valid passport or proof of citizenship.
- Academic Certificates and transcripts(HSC,Bachelors, etc.)
- Completed application Forms( online PDF)
- Passport Size photo( biometric standard).
- Proof of tuition or application fee payment
- Language Proficiency Certificate
- Motivational Letter and CV ( For masters)
- Letter of recommendation.
Legalization Process for Bangladeshi Students
All academic documents must be officially legalized:
- Ministry of Education( Bangladesh)-Attestation
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Bangladesh)-Legalization.
- Austrian Embassy in New Delhi - Final over legalization
There is a consulate of Austria in Dhaka for legalization related or visa related questions students can mail or call them for proper information.
This process is similarly applicable for both bachelors and masters applicants. Without legalization universities won't accept students' applications.
How to Get offer Letter form University:
- Choose a program & University: Like university of Vienna, TU Wien, University of Graz.
- Check Admission Requirements: Language, academic background, etc.
- Prepare your Documents: Academic, Language, financial, etc.
- Apply Online: Submit through the university portal and pay the application fee (50 euro approximately).
- Wait for Response: Decision typically takes 4-8 weeks.
- Receive offer Letter: Required for visa application.
Part-time Job Opportunities
Work regulations:
- Bachelor’s students: up to 10 hours/week.
- Master’s students: up to 20 hours/ week.
- Requires a work permit obtained by the employer from AMS(Austrian Public Employment Service).
- Earning Potential: 800-1000 euro per month
- Popular Jobs: Hospitality , retail, tutoring, on-campus work.
Getting a first part time job can be challenging sometimes. To get a job as early as possible one should learn German. It can open up more job opportunities.
Scholarship for International Students:
- OeAD Scholarships- offered by the Austrian government.
- Erasmus+ - For EU mobility and partnership programs.
- University specific Scholarships- like TU Wien, University of Vienna and many more.
Proof of Funds( for visa application)
You must show sufficient financial means through:
- 6 months of recent bank statements
- Declaration of guarantee(if funds are given by a sponsor like parents).
- Proof of Fund origin(especially if sponsored).
Required Amount:
- Age<24 : Approximately BDT 10,00,000/ Year.
- Age>24: Approximately BDT 16,50,000/year.
Average Bank Statement Needed:
- Single students: BDT 25-30 lakhs
- Couple : 35-40 Lakhs.
